The Professional Learning Centre has been greatly strengthened by our association with several specialized professional organizations. We are indebted to our partners for their expertise, advice and support, all of which has enhanced our programs and permitted the PLC to extend our educational offerings to new markets.

ARMA - Toronto Chapter

ARMA - National Capital Region (Ottawa) Chapter

The Toronto and National Capital Region Chapters of ARMA - The Association of Records Managers and Administrators have partnered with the PLC to offer foundational courses in records management. With the support of an Advisory Committee of senior ARMA members, the PLC offers two certificate programs: Records Management Fundamentals and Records Management Practice

Ontario Library Association

Founded in 1900, the Ontario Library Association is the oldest continually operating library association in Canada. With over 5,000 members, the OLA is the largest library association in the country. It is part of The Partnership, a group of Canadian provincial and territorial library associations collaborating in The Education Institute: continuing education programs in various formats: online via your desktop, audio conferences, webcasts and face-to-face programs. Over 100 new courses are offered yearly.

The Ontario Library Association and the Professional Learning Centre are collaborating to strengthen and promote their respective continuing education courses and events. PLC will be offering 12% off the cost of their courses for all current and personal memberships with Ontario Library Association.

Special Library Association

The Special Libraries Association (SLA), founded in 1909 in the state of New York, is now the global organization for innovative information professionals and their strategic partners. SLA promotes and strengthens its members through learning, advocacy, and networking initiatives.

The Professional Learning Centre (PLC), Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto works in partnership with Click University of the Special Libraries Association to deliver relevant and quality professional development opportunities to the SLA members. All current and personal membersips with SLA are entitled to an 11% discount on the PLC web-based courses.

SmartLibrary

SmartLibrary is a unique partnership of libraries in the National Capital Region working together to offer integrated information resources to those seeking specialized knowledge and resources. Together we will be delivering in-person and online instruction to information professionals. Courses will be hosted by the SmartLibrary member institutions.
